Dealer gamma is one of the biggest hidden forces on intraday price — it's why the tape pins some days and runs others. Here are the tools that map it in 2026, what each does, and who it's for. We build one of them, honestly ranked among the rest.
Gamma exposure (GEX) maps where options dealers are positioned, and dealer hedging is one of the biggest hidden forces on intraday price. Positive net GEX means dealers dampen moves (the tape pins and mean-reverts); negative GEX means they amplify them (moves extend). These are the tools that map it in 2026, what each does, and who it's for. We build one of them.
Reads the live dealer gamma — net GEX, the gamma-flip line, call/put walls, gravity, expected move — on SPY, QQQ and IWM, draws it on a scalping chart, and grades every session and publishes it, sample size on every rate. Purpose-built for 0DTE. Every plan also includes Dr. NoVo, the AI market analyst, which answers off the live map and cites what it used, and every read is scored, so asking "how often has a setup like this worked" returns a base rate with its sample size rather than an opinion.

Almost every GEX tool is analytics only — it shows you the dealer-positioning map and stops there. The two questions that narrow it down: how many tickers do you need (SpotGamma and Tradytics are broad; OptionsDepth, MenthorQ and NoVo are index-focused), and do you want to act on the map inside the same tool? On that second question NoVo is the outlier — it's the only one that turns the gamma read into a live streaming map. If you want the widest single-name coverage, SpotGamma leads; if you scalp the index ETFs off gamma, that's NoVo's lane. See the head-to-head: NoVo vs SpotGamma · NoVo vs MenthorQ, or the broader best 0DTE tools.
There is a third question worth asking any of them: where does the tape come from? Eighteen exchanges print US options and one consolidated tape unites them. Measured at the clearing house on 31 August 2026, Cboe’s venues were 98.18% of index option volume but 11.87% of equity volume — and ETFs like SPY, QQQ and IWM count as equity. So a single-exchange feed is very nearly the whole SPX tape and roughly a ninth of the SPY one, while the label on the dashboard reads the same either way. Dr. NoVo reads the consolidated chain. Ask whoever you buy from which they read — the long version is here.

Trading crypto instead? The same dealer map is drawn on crypto in the NoVo Crypto Market Map — gamma by strike on the 7 cryptos with a real options book, funding per venue, up to five of them, 24-hour liquidation flow, and what a round trip actually costs at retail across all 90 coins. The closest comparables cover five coins. It is its own subscription at $79/mo, and the BTC and ETH gamma read is free.
