QQQ's gamma exposure works the same way SPY's does — positive net GEX pins, negative net GEX amplifies — but the levels are the Nasdaq's own. Because QQQ is tech-concentrated, its implied volatility (VXN) and its expected move often run hotter than the S&P, so the same percentage wall sits further from spot in dollar terms. The call wall caps upside, the put wall supports downside, and the gamma flip marks where dealer hedging switches from damping to amplifying.
On risk-off days tech leads the drop and VXN spikes harder than VIX; on melt-ups QQQ's call wall is what to watch, not SPY's. Trading QQQ off an S&P map misses that.
