VIX back to 1990. The one-day-to-six-month term structure, dispersion and correlation, vol-of-vol, and how much the tail is being paid for. Every level ranked against its own full history, not a one-year window.
A number on its own answers nothing. Each of these is placed against every session NoVo holds for it, and against the last two years, because those two often disagree, and the disagreement is the point.
VIX to 1990, bond vol to 2004, implied correlation to 2006 at one and three months, dispersion to 2014. VIX1D measures a single day, VIX9D nine, VIX thirty, VIX3M ninety. Dispersion and implied correlation answer what no single index can: whether the index is calm because everything is calm, or because its members are cancelling out. VXTLT carries the same reading for bonds. When the front sits above the back the market is paying up for the next few sessions specifically, which is a different regime from a curve that has lifted all along. On a 0DTE desk, the one-day index is the front that actually matters.
Monthly closes. The spikes are the ones you remember: 2008, March 2020, February 2018. The long flat stretches between them are most of the record.
These indices tell you what kind of market you are in. NoVo’s dealer map tells you where it is likely to stall or break today: the gamma flip, the walls and the expected move, recomputed every 5 minutes.
The member portal carries delayed dealer levels on SPY, QQQ and IWM: the gamma flip, the expected-move band, sectors, movers and the week’s catalysts. Dr. NoVo posts a Mid-Day Tape Review every trading day and the Week Ahead on Sundays, and his Market Insight sits at the top of the page: a few lines on whatever stands out across every market right now, read fresh as the tape moves.
