What Is a "Liquidity Void" and How Does Price Move Through It?
Sometimes price seems to teleport — ripping through a zone with no hesitation. Often it's moving through a liquidity void, where there's simply nothing there to slow it down.

A liquidity void is a price zone with few resting orders, so when price enters it, it can move fast with little resistance. Understanding voids explains why price sometimes accelerates through an area rather than grinding, and how to position around them.
Why voids exist and what they do
Liquidity (resting buy and sell orders) isn't spread evenly across prices — it clusters at key levels (round numbers, walls, prior highs/lows) and thins out between them. A void is one of those thin zones. When price breaks into a void, there are few orders to absorb it, so it moves quickly and easily — often accelerating until it reaches the next area of real liquidity, where orders slow or reverse it. Price tends to move fast through voids and pause at liquidity.
How to trade around it
The practical read: expect fast, low-resistance moves through voids and reactions at the liquidity zones on either side. A break out of a range into a void can run quickly to the next level — useful for a breakout scalp targeting that next zone. Conversely, don't expect price to hold or bounce inside a void (there's nothing there to hold it); the meaningful reactions happen where the orders are. Mapping where liquidity sits (and where it doesn't) tells you where price will travel fast and where it'll fight.
Price rests where the orders are and races where they aren't. A liquidity void is empty road — price hits the gas until it reaches the next wall.
The quick takeaway
A liquidity void is a thin zone with few orders, so price moves fast through it to the next liquidity level. Trade the reactions at the levels and expect speed through the gaps between them. NoVo's dealer map shows where the real liquidity sits (walls, gravity, key levels) — which implicitly shows you the voids in between, where price is likely to run.
