CoreWeave Falls 10% as Bond Yield Touches 15%
High-yield debt friction and tech selling push cloud infrastructure down, spilling over to an index book already pinned beneath its dealer gamma flip.

CoreWeave slid 10% after its bond yield touched 15%, drawing public commentary from Elon Musk who flagged the move simply as 'Yikes', according to 24/7 Wall St. The financing friction in private cloud compute spilled directly into broader tech hardware names, with Nebius dropping 6% and Oracle slipping alongside it.
The pressure arrives as high-yield infrastructure financing faces immediate scrutiny from credit desks. When debt servicing costs push into double digits for heavily leveraged compute operators, equity books reassess capital expenditure runway across the wider datacenter buildout. That tension hits an equity tape that was already vulnerable to headline volatility.
Over on our options book, tech is completely stripped of its natural shock absorbers. QQQ trades at 735.79, locked firmly in short gamma territory beneath its 754.62 flip line. When dealers sit short gamma, their mandate flips from dampening swings to accelerating them: they sell underlying contracts into weakness to stay delta-neutral, removing the floor under fast pullbacks. Spot is currently testing the 735 put wall directly, with an expected move of plus or minus 1.73% reflecting the wider trading bands priced into this tape.
SPY mirrors that structural vulnerability. With spot at 772.28, the index remains positioned below its 782.66 flip line, leaving dealers selling intraday dips down toward the 770 put wall. VIX sits elevated at 15.67, up 2.62% on the session, confirming that downside protection remains bid across index expiries.
When debt markets begin repricing balance sheet risk on compute infrastructure, equity options desks do not absorb the blow while trapped in short gamma. With spot hovering right against the primary put strikes on tech, any further selling forces systematic dealers to press the tape lower rather than cushion the fall.
