Anthropic Hits $17 Billion Revenue Run Rate in Q3 Surge
Enterprise AI spending drove a 45% sequential revenue jump at Anthropic, even as broader tech positioning remains trapped in deep short gamma.

Anthropic briefed investors on a 45% quarter-over-quarter revenue surge, lifting its annualized run rate to nearly $17 billion, according to reporting from the Financial Times. The artificial intelligence developer cited accelerating enterprise adoption of large language models for the top-line expansion, offering a rare piece of concrete monetization data for venture-backed AI firms facing heavy compute and infrastructure bills.
The headline arrives against an otherwise battered technology backdrop. Renewed interest rate jitters and semiconductor demand questions drove sharp overnight declines across Asia, where South Korea's KOSPI plunged between 7% and 8%, led by double-digit drops in memory-chip heavyweights SK Hynix and Samsung. That spillover met a U.S. tape already struggling to stabilize after yesterday's hot inflation print.
On my desk, the enterprise revenue print has not changed the defensive structure of the domestic index options market. Tech positioning remains locked in short gamma, leaving dealers forced to amplify moves rather than dampen them. QQQ sits at 722.16, deeply beneath its 741.36 gamma flip, with dealers pinned between the 717 put wall and the 750 call wall. An expected move of 1.63% and elevated skew of 3.7 reflect that dealers are paying up for downside protection rather than chasing software growth stories.
Broader equities show the same fragile footing. SPY is trading at 767.13, well below its 775.46 flip line and just two points above its 765 put wall, while front-month Nasdaq futures are down 1.16% at 29,833. When dealers sit in negative gamma across every major index book, single-company top-line beats rarely provide immediate shelter from systematic selling. A high growth rate confirms corporate spend is active, but the current dealer map means the tape remains exposed to rapid swings until price can reclaim the flip.
