Educational only, not financial advice. Broker features, options-approval requirements, 0DTE availability, and fees change and vary by account — verify current details on the broker’s own site. NoVo is independent and not affiliated with the brokers named.

Moomoo courts the data-hungry: a dense desktop workstation, depth-of-book displays and an options chain that shows its numbers instead of hiding them. For a 0DTE SPY scalp, that density is an asset — if you know which numbers matter.

Get the permission sorted

Apply for options trading in the account centre; buying long options is the basic tier of moomoo’s questionnaire-based approval. Confirm the grant covers same-day expirations before the open you plan to trade — does my broker offer 0DTE SPY explains what to check.

A chain that shows you everything

Pull up SPY, open the chain, select today (SPY lists a 0DTE every weekday). Moomoo surfaces greeks and volume as columns, which makes it easier than most to read the quote and pick a strike on liquidity rather than hope: a responsive near-the-money strike responds to SPY tick for tick, while a far-OTM lottery ticket is mostly theta.

Fill it, cap it, leave on time

Place the order with a limit and one contract. Then use the platform’s order tools for what they are for: set your stop at once, because decay is fast and a hard stop beats a mental one. Decide the exit before entry so you never drift into the close.

A data-rich chain answers “what is this contract?” It never answers “what is the market structured to do here?”

The part no broker gives you

All those columns describe the contract, not the battlefield. That’s where NoVo fits: it maps the dealer levels on SPY, QQQ and IWM and keeps a scored record of what that structure has tended to mean. It does not connect to moomoo or any other broker — you place every trade yourself. Either way: start small, and remember levels are structure, not signals.
