Crypto never closes, so there is always something to ask an agent. The free tools on NoVo’s server support a simple routine in two calls. The board first, then one coin. The second call is where an agent is most likely to tidy the data into something false.
The sweep
get_crypto_sweep returns the mapped coins with price, 24-hour change and a small sparkline. It is the board at a glance. An agent can use it to tell you which coins moved most and which did nothing. That is all it should be used for. A day’s change says nothing about why.
One coin
get_crypto_coin opens a single coin. It returns funding by venue, as a rate and annualized. It returns open interest by venue with a total. It returns the last day’s long and short liquidations. For BTC and ETH it adds a gamma summary.
The response also has a key named paid. It lists what a subscription would add for that coin. Cost to trade is one of those, and it is not in the free response. An agent asked what it costs to trade the coin should say that reading is on the paid map.
Keep the venues apart
Funding comes back per venue and is never blended. Each venue has its own rate because each has its own traders and its own book. An agent summarizing will want to give you one number. Tell it to list the venues, or to give the range and name the highest and lowest. The reasoning is in why funding is never blended across venues, with a worked case in one coin, six funding rates.
Gamma is on a few coins only
This is the easiest thing for an agent to get wrong. On the free tier, the gamma summary exists for BTC and ETH. The other mapped coins carry funding, open interest and liquidations. That is a different kind of reading, and a useful one. An agent asked for dealer gamma on a small coin should say there is none. Most coins have no options book deep enough to map.
Gamma also speaks to the size of moves. It says nothing about direction. A model will reach for a bullish or bearish label, and the label is not in the data.
The free payload has no single fixed shape. What a coin carries depends on the coin. An agent should read the fields it was given. It should not report a field as zero because another coin had it.
What a paid key adds
With an API subscription, get_crypto_map serves the full map, including gamma by strike on the coins with a real options book. get_crypto_screen ranks the whole cross-section on one axis and leaves out any coin it cannot measure. read_crypto_regime returns the map as one sentence assembled by code, with a field named not_a_signal. get_crypto_breadth treats the book as one market. Its liquidation table is forced flow and should not be described as positioning.
The routine in words
Sweep. Pick the coin. Open it. Report funding and open interest by venue, liquidations by side, and gamma only where it exists. Give the age of each. The same book is drawn on the Crypto Market Map, and the tools are on the MCP & API.
