NoVo vs Laevitas: two MCP servers for crypto derivatives

Laevitas is the broadest crypto derivatives dataset with an MCP in front of it. We are narrower on venues and wider on what happens after the data arrives.

Laevitas is a crypto derivatives analytics platform — implied volatility, Greeks, skew, open interest and gamma exposure across a wide set of venues — and it ships an MCP server with more than twenty tools, so it plugs into Claude, ChatGPT or n8n the same way we do. On raw breadth of crypto derivatives data they are ahead of us. Here is where that stops being the deciding factor.

What Laevitas does well

Breadth and depth of the crypto derivatives surface. Fifteen-plus venues, five years of history, and a genuinely wide set of instruments — implied volatility surfaces, Greeks, skew term structure, open interest, gamma exposure. Their MCP server carries more than twenty tools, and their x402 pay-per-request billing in USDC is a real answer for someone who wants a handful of calls rather than a seat. If crypto derivatives analytics is the job, they cover more ground than we do.

Where NoVo is different

We are not trying to be the widest crypto dataset. We are trying to be the one that answers a question.

The index book is on the same key. Laevitas is crypto only. Our SPY, QQQ and IWM dealer map comes back from the same API with the same field names and the same freshness semantics, which turns a cross-market question into one integration instead of two.

Something reads it for you. Twenty data tools is twenty data tools — the model still has to work out which to call and what the numbers mean. Dr. NoVo is a tool that answers the question directly off the live map and cites what it used.

Alerts, not just reads. Watching a condition is only half of it; reaching you when it fires is the other half. Standing alerts deliver over a signed webhook, with a cooldown so a condition that stays true does not bury you.

Which should you pick

If you need the broadest possible crypto derivatives coverage, many venues and years of history to model against, Laevitas is the deeper well, and their pay-per-request tier makes trying it cheap. If you want the crypto book and the index book in one place, with an analyst on top and alerts that reach you, we are the closer fit. See the MCP and API or every MCP market-data server we know of.

FAQ

Common questions

Does Laevitas have an MCP server?
Yes — more than twenty tools, usable from Claude, ChatGPT or n8n. Ours has 32, of which 19 need no key. The tool count is the least interesting difference; what the tools return matters more.
Which has more crypto data?
Laevitas, on venue count and history depth. We cover a narrower option book deliberately and put the US-listed ETF option book beside it, which is a different choice rather than a smaller version of theirs.
Can I pay per request?
With Laevitas, yes — x402 in USDC. We sell monthly and annual subscriptions only. If your usage is a few calls a month, theirs is the better shape.
Does either cover equities?
Ours does — SPY, QQQ and IWM on the same key as the crypto map. Laevitas is crypto only as of our September 2026 check.
