A morning brief is a natural first job for an agent with a market connector. You ask once. It makes several tool calls and writes a short page. Done well, it saves you opening five screens. Done badly, it is a confident summary with no way to check a line of it.
What goes in
Start with the schedule. get_economic_calendar returns the day’s US releases and their times. Then the backdrop. get_volatility_record shows where the VIX family sits against its own history, and get_market_pulse gives the fear and greed composite with its factors.
Then positioning. get_dealer_levels returns the call wall, put wall and spot for SPY, QQQ and IWM, delayed on the free tier. A paid key opens get_equity_map, which serves the same map whole and current. Then the news. get_wire_news returns the wire as filed, newest first. get_daily_strike returns The Daily Strike, NoVo’s own market desk.
The weekend and overnight line
If the cash market has been shut, a paid key adds one more call. get_stocks_onchain carries a block named implied_open. It holds each index perp’s move since the last cash close. The brief should phrase it as a market price on another venue. Why that wording matters is in the implied open.
The order of the page
Ask for a fixed layout so every morning’s page looks the same. Schedule first, since it sets the times that matter. Then volatility and the pulse. Then levels. Then headlines. A fixed order lets you notice when a section is missing, and a missing section is itself information.
The rule for every line
Each line names its tool and the reading’s age. Levels from get_dealer_levels, delayed, with the time stated. Volatility percentile with the window it is measured over. If a field is gated, the line says withheld. If a tool returned an error, the line says the tool was down. No line is filled from memory.
This is the difference between a brief and a blog post. Every sentence can be traced to a payload. The habit is argued in fluency is not evidence.
What stays out
No forecast. No call on direction. No suggested trade. The tools return readings, and a brief that ends with what will happen today has left them behind. If you want the readings interpreted, that is a separate and deliberate question, covered in letting Dr. NoVo answer or calling the data tools.
Tell the agent the length you want. A page, not an essay. One line per reading and a single sentence where two readings bear on each other. A brief that takes ten minutes to read has failed at its one job.
Where NoVo fits
Every tool named here is on the MCP & API. NoVo also publishes its own morning desk, The Open, before the bell. The agent’s brief is the version built to your layout, from the same readings.
