A watchlist is a short list of names you check on. Checking them is repetitive, and repetitive reading is a job an agent does well. The design is simple. Give it the list, tell it which lookups to run, and tell it how to lay out the result. The care goes into what it says when a lookup comes back empty-handed.

The lookups

For single stocks the core call is get_ticker_brief. One call per name returns what NoVo’s free surface carries on it. That is short volume if the name is in the covered universe, the next earnings date, House disclosures and retail chatter. Each section has its own time stamp.

You can go deeper on one section when it matters. get_short_volume ranks a ticker’s off-exchange short ratio against its own recent distribution. get_earnings_dates returns the next report date. get_retail_chatter counts the bullish and bearish tags users put on their own posts.

Index names and weekend names

If SPY, QQQ or IWM are on your list, add get_dealer_levels for the walls. With a paid key, get_stocks_onchain takes a symbol and returns that stock’s perp and its Robinhood stock token. That gives the agent something live to report when the cash market is shut.

The gaps are part of the report

A watchlist will include names a tool does not cover. The tools say so plainly. Short volume refuses an uncovered ticker by name. The brief marks a section as not carried and gives a reason. Below a floor of tagged posts, the chatter tool returns no percentage at all. The dealer section is marked as not covered for any single stock.

Your agent should carry each of these into the report as written. Not covered. No percentage, too few posts. Earnings date from a public calendar. A row with honest blanks is worth more than a row filled in by guesswork. The point is made at length in an empty array is a claim about the world.

The layout

Ask for one row per name and the same columns every day. Put the age of each reading in the row. Put congressional items in their own column with the filing date, since members have up to 45 days to file. A fixed layout makes change visible. You will notice when a ratio moves or an earnings date draws near, because it sits where it sat yesterday.

Only reads

This agent has no reason to act, so do not give it the means. NoVo’s tools only read, which settles the matter on that side. Leave a broker’s connector out of this agent entirely. If you want one that can act, build it separately and keep this one as the plain reporter. How to choose the names in the first place is covered in building a watchlist.

No verdicts

Tell the agent to report and not to rank. No best idea of the day, no names to buy. The moment it starts picking, it has left the data. Everything it reads from is listed on the MCP & API page.
