NoVo shows a lot. A new member who tries to learn all of it at once usually ends up using none of it. If you trade in the Robinhood apps, three small pieces of setup cover most of the value. They fit in one afternoon, and none of them touches your account. What NoVo adds if you trade in Robinhood gives the overview. This is the order to do it in.
Before you start: nothing to link
There is no broker connection to make. NoVo has no order routing and no account link, so setup involves no credentials from Robinhood and no permissions on your account. You are arranging screens and notifications. That is all.
One: put the read where you will see it
Decide where the dashboard lives. If you trade at a desk, give it its own screen or a fixed half of one. If you trade on a phone, install it to the home screen and put the icon beside your broker app.
Choose the dashboard that matches what you trade. For index options, that is Trader, with the dealer map on SPY, QQQ and IWM. For coins, it is the Crypto Market Map. Many Robinhood traders do both, and both can sit side by side.
This step sounds too simple to matter. It matters most. A read you have to go looking for is a read you skip.
Two: allow the two pushes
Two notifications are tied to things a Robinhood trader holds.
If you hold index positions overnight or over weekends, allow notifications on Trader. It sends a push the first time an index perp is half a percent from its cash close while the market is shut. Setting up the off-hours perp push has the detail.
If you use Robinhood Wallet, allow notifications on the Crypto Market Map. It sends a push the first time a coin’s contract ever appears on the Robinhood Chain trending list. The new-on-trending push explains how to handle it.
Both are occasional. Neither is an instruction to trade.
Three: write one pre-trade check
Pick the trade you make most often and write down what you will read before it. Keep it to three lines.
For a same-day index option: which side of the gamma flip, how far to the nearest wall, where the strike sits against the expected move. Check the flip and the walls before a 0DTE order expands on each.
For a coin in the brokerage app: the round-trip cost. For a coin in the Wallet: the contract address, the pool depth, the split of buying and selling wallets.
Write it on paper or in a note on your phone. The first week, read it out before each trade. After that it runs on its own.
What to leave for later
Everything else. The Stocks On-Chain tab, the Perps & Futures tab, the NoVo MCP & API and putting questions to Dr. NoVo, the Financial Markets Super Intelligence, are all there when you want them. None is needed on day one.
After the afternoon
You now have a screen that shows the read, two pushes that will tell you when something moved, and a check you run before your usual trade. The trading still happens in your broker, by your hand. NoVo is the readout beside it.
