On 29 September 2026 Robinhood announced Agents: AI agents built and run inside the Robinhood app, aimed at retail traders rather than developers. It is three products sharing a name, and they are worth separating, because they do very different things.
The agent itself
You create an agent in a few taps with no technical setup, then use it to analyse, plan and place trades. Loops let an agent run on a schedule, around the clock. Robinhood's own description of the safety model is a dedicated account and trade approvals: the agent trades in a segregated Agentic account, and nothing executes without the approval you configured.
Robinhood is also explicit about where responsibility sits. You are responsible for the automation rules you set, and automated trading carries the same risk of loss as trading by hand.
Agent Apps, the marketplace
The part that matters most to anyone selling data is Agent Apps: an in-app storefront where outside firms sell premium data and tools to plug into those agents. Eleven providers launched with it, including Nasdaq, Unusual Whales, SpotGamma, Quiver Quantitative and Token Terminal. Subscriptions run from $5 to $30 a month after a one-month trial, and Robinhood bills them.
It is curated. The launch providers are partnerships; there is no public listing form.
The trading MCP, for agents built elsewhere
Separately, Robinhood runs a Model Context Protocol server at agent.robinhood.com/mcp/trading that agents built outside Robinhood can connect to: Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor, Codex, Grok, Perplexity and others. Robinhood says it will show those external agents' activity in the app alongside its own.
The edge worth knowing
That connection runs one way. An outside agent can reach Robinhood; Robinhood's documentation does not describe its own agents calling out to a third-party MCP server, and states that an agent can only place trades in your Robinhood Agentic account. Data reaches a Robinhood agent through Agent Apps, not through an arbitrary connector.
So there are two ways to give an agent better market data. Inside Robinhood, it is whatever the marketplace sells. Outside it, in an AI app you already use, you can attach any data source that speaks MCP beside Robinhood's own server, and the agent reads from one and acts through the other.
