OPEC+ has agreed to keep its oil production targets steady for November, according to a report by Reuters. The decision preserves current output curbs rather than altering global crude supplies heading into the final stretch of the year. Market participants had been closely watching the alliance for any potential supply adjustments amid choppy commodity tape and broad macro friction.
The energy policy standstill leaves macro risk balanced across equity indices, where positioning shows no sign of dealer panic. On our book, SPY sits at 769.64, holding comfortably above its gamma flip at 768.04. That positive gamma regime means dealers remain net long options delta, acting as a natural cushion against intraday swings by buying dips and selling into rallies. The SPY call wall sits at 775, with the put wall down at 760 and an expected move of plus or minus 0.46%.
Tech structure mirrors that stability. QQQ is trading at 749.58, also in long gamma above its 748.08 flip level. With its call wall overhead at 755 and its put wall down at 736, dealer hedging flows continue to lean stabilizing rather than accelerative, backed by a daily expected move of plus or minus 0.67%. Small caps on IWM show identical insulation: spot trades at 281.52, above its 280.02 flip, boxed between a 284 call wall and a 277 put wall with an expected move of plus or minus 0.68%.
Without an unexpected production shock out of OPEC+ to dislodge crude pricing or drive sudden inflation hedges into rates, the dealer map across the major US indices remains positioned for orderly containment. As long as SPY and QQQ hold above their respective flips, dealers are instructed by their books to pad the tape rather than chase it. What traders do with that pinned landscape is always their own click.
