It would be simple to let a markets Super Intelligence act on what it reads. The reading is already done, and the order is one more step. NoVo does not take that step. Dr. NoVo reads markets and says what he read. The trade happens somewhere else, by someone else’s hand.
Two jobs
Reading asks what is there. It has an answer that can be checked. Trading asks what to do about it. Its answer depends on the account, the risk and the person. The first job needs coverage and care. The second needs authority over money.
The skills differ, and so do the consequences of error. A wrong read can be corrected by the next read. A wrong order has already happened.
What happens when one system does both
A reader with a position is no longer neutral. Once a system has bought, every later reading either supports the purchase or questions it. The pull is toward support. Traders know this about themselves. There is no reason to build it into the tool they consult.
There is a plainer risk too. A system that can place orders can place wrong ones, and a misread field becomes a loss with nobody having looked at it. The case is made in why a read-only tool matters.
How the separation is built
At NoVo the line is structural. There is no order routing, no broker link and no auto-trading. The tools on the MCP & API only read. None can place an order or touch an account. Dr. NoVo cannot trade, so he has no trade to defend.
This is a different idea from software that trades on your behalf, and the difference is deliberate, as set out in why NoVo is not a system that trades for you.
Agents that act exist elsewhere
None of this says acting agents should not exist. Robinhood runs its own trading MCP server for outside agents. On 29 September 2026 it launched Agents inside its app, described in Robinhood Agents, explained.
The two can sit side by side. An outside agent can use NoVo’s connector to read and Robinhood’s to act. The reading comes from a source with no access to the account. The acting goes through the broker, under the broker’s own controls. The setup is walked through in pairing a market-data MCP with your broker.
Who holds the decision
Between the read and the order there is a decision, and a person should hold it. A markets SI can make that person better informed and faster. It should not make them unnecessary.
Dr. NoVo, NoVo’s Financial Markets SI, is on the Trader dashboard, on the Crypto Market Map and behind ask_novo on the MCP & API. In all three places he reads. The trade stays yours.
