Software can now sit between a retail trader and an order. Robinhood’s Agents, launched on 29 September 2026, can analyze, plan and place trades. Robinhood describes the safety model as a dedicated account and trade approvals. The second of those is the subject here. An approval is a small screen with a large job.

What the model is

By Robinhood’s description, the agent trades in a segregated Agentic account. Nothing executes without the approval the user configured. Robinhood also states that the user is responsible for the automation rules they set. Robinhood Agents, explained has the full picture. The exact settings are in Robinhood’s documentation and are not listed here.

What an approval is for

An approval keeps one decision with a person. The agent may have done the reading and the planning. The approval asks a human to confirm the result before money moves. It is the modern form of reading an order ticket before pressing the button.

That only has value if the person brings something the agent did not. Usually that is context: what else is held, what was decided earlier, what the day is like.

What to read at that moment

Four things. The instrument, exactly: which one, and is it the one you meant. The size, against the account and against the market it trades in. The reason, in the agent’s own words, with the data it used. And the age of that data. A proposal built on an old number is a proposal about a market that has moved on.

If the proposal does not show its reason or its data, ask for them before approving. What to ask of an agent inside a broker app lists the questions.

How approvals wear down

The risk with any confirmation step is habit. The first few approvals get read. After that the tap becomes a reflex. This is a general fact about people and prompts, and it applies to every app that asks for confirmation.

Two things slow the erosion. Fewer, larger decisions get more attention than many small ones. And a fixed short routine at each approval is easier to keep than a vague intention to be careful.

Schedules and the hours you are away

Robinhood’s Loops let an agent run on a schedule, around the clock. A person does not run around the clock. So it matters which steps wait for an approval and which do not, and what happens to a proposal that arrives at night. Those are settings to understand before turning a schedule on.

Read and act, kept apart

An approval is strongest when the reading behind it can be checked somewhere the agent does not control. NoVo’s tools only read. None can place an order or touch an account. Every reading from the MCP & API carries its own age. A trader can look at the same market on Trader or the Crypto Market Map before approving anything.
