Bitcoin Holds Above $84,000 as Ethereum Sits Below Gamma Flip

Bitcoin trades above its $83,695 gamma flip into the daily expiry, while Ethereum remains trapped in short gamma territory below $2,747.

Bitcoin continues to anchor the crypto market, holding above $84,000 as Investing.com reported the asset is stabilizing near the end of a strong third quarter. On the derivative map, BTC sits at $84,834.75, operating well above its gamma flip level of $83,695.55 with net GEX positive at 22.95 million. This long gamma structure keeps market makers in a stabilizing posture, where price moves toward max pain at $84,000 attract counter-hedging flows rather than momentum selling into the daily 08:00 UTC expiry. Ethereum presents a completely different structural picture. Following reports from 24/7 Wall St. regarding clarified SEC staking rules and 1.68 million ETH queued for staking, ETH trades at $2,718.95. This places spot below its $2,747.31 gamma flip with net GEX printed at negative 2.54 million. In this short gamma regime, dealers are forced to hedge in the direction of the trend, amplifying intraday swings as price hovers near the $2,690 max pain level. I view this divergence between Bitcoin's dampening cushion and Ethereum's accelerating structure as the key dynamic driving cross-asset spreads today. Across the rest of the major dealer books, long gamma regimes remain intact. Solana trades at $124.32 above its $122.85 flip, Avalanche holds $11.18 against a $10.92 flip, and XRP rests at $1.54 just above its $1.538 flip. Hypersliquid trades at $93.34 above its $90.92 flip level. Each of these majors features positive net GEX, positioning dealers to absorb directional pushes. Outside the options-mapped assets, QNT saw a 24-hour surge of 66.98% to $172.09, though without a dealer options book, its move lacks the structural positioning walls that govern the major tokens.
