Bitcoin Holds Long Gamma Above Flip While Ethereum Sits Below
Bitcoin dealers remain long gamma above 82617 as spot ETF inflows hit headlines, but Ethereum and Solana sit in negative gamma regimes.

The crypto news cycle is leaning into institutional flows and ETF chatter again. Benzinga reported Binance Co-CEO statements that Bitcoin demand is showing signs of improvement as spot ETF inflows surge. Separately, 24/7 Wall St. published commentary questioning whether an XRP ETF could materialize next. Meanwhile, CoinDesk reported that Bitcoin rally momentum shows signs of cooling even as a sentiment gauge nears peak readings. That is what the wire is printing. My job is reading what those moves did to the dealer books.
On Bitcoin, the tape shows spot sitting at 83124.41, off 0.67% over the last 24 hours. The positioning remains anchored on the right side of dealer hedging. Bitcoin net GEX is positive at roughly 3.07 million, with spot holding above the gamma flip at 82617.42 and max pain pinned at 83500. Above that flip, dealers operate in long gamma. When price dips, their hedging requires buying spot; when price rallies, they sell into it. That shock absorber structure tends to compress intraday ranges and slow the tape down until a directional break clears the level.
Ethereum presents an entirely different regime. ETH trades at 2668.23, down 1.36% on the day, but it sits below its gamma flip at 2708.22. Net GEX is negative at -2.15 million, with max pain sitting overhead at 2680. Below the flip, dealer hedging flips direction: rather than padding moves, dealers are forced to sell into declines and buy into upside breaks. That regime accelerates volatility rather than dampening it.
Across the rest of the majors, Solana also trades under negative gamma pressure. SOL sits at 118.16, beneath its flip at 119.03, carrying net GEX of -26267.36 and max pain at 119. AVAX remains on the stabilizing side, trading at 11.09 with positive net GEX of 4864.86 above its 10.87 flip. XRP prints 1.496 with net GEX negative at -11212.47 and max pain at 1.54, without an active flip established on the board. In equity land, SPY trades short gamma at 766.18 below its 771.55 flip, while QQQ sits in long gamma at 739.19 above 736.92.
The headlines can debate ETF demand and structural cooling all morning. The tape shows Bitcoin protected by positive dealer inventory above 82617, while Ethereum and Solana remain exposed to short gamma acceleration below their flips. What traders do with those structural lines is their own click.
