SEC Approves First 3x Leveraged Crypto Products

Regulators cleared triple-leveraged crypto exchange-traded products as Bitcoin holds the $85,000 line with net dealer gamma solidly positive.

The Securities and Exchange Commission has cleared the first 3x leveraged crypto exchange-traded products, Investing.com reported on Sunday. The approval marks an aggressive expansion of retail leverage wrappers tied directly to digital assets, arriving as Bitcoin trades around the $85,000 threshold. On our tape, Bitcoin printed at $85,106, up 0.4% on the session. The derivative plumbing underpinning the asset shows dealers sitting heavily in positive territory. On the crypto dealer map, BTC carries net gamma of +15,052,732, with the zero-gamma flip parked down at 59,482.82 and max pain clustered directly at 85,000. Spot is sitting right on top of that magnet. That positioning matters for anyone expecting triple leverage to immediately spark runaway volatility on the underlying. When dealers carry positive gamma, their hedging operates as a mechanical shock absorber. They buy intraday dips and sell into intraday spikes to balance their books, dampening moves rather than amplifying them. Even with exotic leverage arriving on exchange floors, the underlying market structure remains anchored well above its flip line. Across the rest of the majors, the picture is more fragmented. Ethereum sits at 2,695.64 with negative net gamma of -27,374,584 and max pain at 2,710, keeping dealers in a position where they accelerate spot moves rather than pad them. Solana holds positive net gamma of 75,483.17 with max pain at 119, while XRP shows positive net gamma of 83,222.11 with max pain at 1.48. Macro context across the broader tape is also quiet. While our tape shows equity cash markets closed since Friday, the last measured index structures had SPY at 769.82 and QQQ at 749.63, both parked in long gamma regimes above their respective flips. The SEC's nod gives funds the green light to roll out extreme leverage, but the immediate dealer book on Bitcoin is hedged to keep price pinned near 85,000 until open interest shifts.
