Hardware wallet maker Ledger issued an urgent warning to its user base to take protective security measures following reports of a decentralized finance breach, TheStreet reported. The vulnerability compromised roughly $86 million in digital assets through transaction and interface exploits across connected protocols. The firm directed users to avoid interacting with third-party decentralized applications while engineering teams addressed the affected connection libraries.
The alert hits a crypto landscape that has spent the past day digesting institutional news rather than infrastructure risks. Earlier wire items from 24/7 Wall St. detailed how asset managers have split their ledger alignments, with BlackRock backing Avalanche while Franklin Templeton selected the XRP Ledger. While institutional custody deployments continue to broaden, security vulnerabilities targeting retail-facing wallet layers immediately test user confidence and on-chain liquidity.
On our crypto dealer book, the majors remain insulated from direct liquidation spikes so far. Bitcoin trades at 82,798.37, down 0.26% over 24 hours, holding positive net GEX of 13,158,745.98 above its 82,285.93 gamma flip. As long as spot stays north of that flip, dealers sit in long gamma, acting as shock absorbers by absorbing inventory rather than dumping into thin bids. Max pain on BTC sits at 82,600. Ethereum also maintains a stabilizing posture, trading at 2,497.39 with positive net GEX of 3,263,735.23 above its 2,481.15 flip, centered beneath a 2,500 max pain pin.
The equity tape similarly shows little macro spillover from isolated crypto custody concerns. SPY sits at 778.60 in positive gamma above its 776.25 flip, bounded between a 780 call wall and a 770 put wall with a tight expected move of 0.35%. QQQ remains the outlier in short gamma territory at 751.37 below its 752.10 flip, though that fragility reflects equity-specific tech weighting rather than digital asset headline risk. For crypto traders holding spot or derivative exposure, the security headline introduces friction, but the broader book continues to hold above its key gamma lines.
