Morgan Stanley has named Nvidia as a top pick once again, according to a wire report from FirstSquawk. The call lands as artificial intelligence infrastructure spending dominates morning desks, with broader commentary from Pimco highlighting that capital demands from hyperscalers continue to drive real rates and market borrowing benchmarks.
The reiteration arrives against an equity board that remains split along structural lines. Nasdaq futures are up 0.81% on the session, trading at 31,011, while S&P 500 futures sit at 7,762 with a 0.49% gain. That momentum is feeding directly into index positioning, though the buffer zones tell two different stories.
On the broad market, SPY sits at 767.91, pinned comfortably on the positive side of its 766.43 gamma flip. That keeps dealers positioned in long gamma, where their hedging acts as a shock absorber against sharp directional breaks. Overhead resistance sits at the 770 call wall, with downside support framed by the 765 put wall against an expected move of plus or minus 1.52%.
Tech itself is walking a narrower rope. QQQ trades at 748.26, sitting just beneath its gamma flip at 748.53. That puts tech dealers in short gamma territory, where hedging obligations require selling weakness and buying strength rather than cushioning moves. The 750 call wall sits right above the tape, while the put wall is parked down at 730, leaving a wide pocket beneath spot if the flip fails to reclaim.
Meanwhile, small caps are absorbing the brunt of the macro rate pressure. IWM trades at 280.61, trapped deep in short gamma below its 283.31 flip with a 278 put wall below. Morgan Stanley's endorsement provides fundamental cover for megacap hardware names, but until QQQ can cross back above 748.53, tech dealer hedging remains configured to accelerate tape moves rather than tame them.
